Hayden Harps is a one-person operation specializing in the custom hand crafting of small, 24 string carbon fibre harps. Through our site you will learn all about our unique, one-of-a-kind instruments, why carbon fibre is an excellent material choice for stringed instruments and see the research and development work that has gone into making them sound as good as instruments of traditional construction.
Since 1987 Heartland Harps has been building instruments full time. Even after all these years the harps continue to evolve, including new materials like carbon fiber. Dave started developing a carbon fiber harp in late 2008, introducing the first Delight carbon fiber harp in mid-2009 to great success. The popularity of the carbon fiber harps finally dictated that Dave no longer build wood harps as of 2010. There are several more carbon fiber models in the offing, but the Delight and the Infinity are making a difference in how and where harps are played around the world.
Don Peddle has retired from building harps, however, he will be at the NLHF with some of his other unique and innovative musical instruments.
